EVENT SCHEDULE


Check out the event schedule and explore the offerings you’re most drawn to. Festival gates open at 8:30am and opening ceremonies will begin at 9am. Starting at 10am, yoga experiences will be facilitated simultaneously in different areas of White Park. At the top of each hour (11am, 12pm, and 1pm) another set of offerings will be shared. The keynote address will begin at 2pm followed by the afternoon concert in the park from 3pm-6pm.

BILL BROWN I PRISON YOGA PROJECT

Prison Yoga Project (PYP) is a global nonprofit organization that has developed a holistic approach to rehabilitation and transformation within justice systems through trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness practices. Bill Brown began working with PYP in 2013, serving in federal, state and county facilities in Southern California. Through his work with PYP, Bill hopes to promote social change, transforming current systems and culture to create a more inclusive, equitable, and just world.

MILES SHREWSBERY & MAKHEER SINGH

Miles Shrewsbery loves the tabla and loves sharing what he loves. Pandit Abhiman Kaushal and Pandit Nandkumar Bhatlouande are his beloved teachers. He has performed all over the world with renowned musicians and currently teaches at UCLA and the Center for World Music in San Diego, while managing the San Diego Tabla Academy. Makheer Singh is a renowned taus and dilruba artist. His love for music began at four years old under the tutelage of his grandfather and mother. Now he continues his classical training and incorporates sounds of the dilruba in hip hop beats.
